主要研究方向

大变形的结构和机构的设计和分析，其中包括：

多自由度机构（multi-DOF mechanisms），可展结构（deployable structures），可重构结构（reconfigurable structures），折纸结构（origami structures），多稳态结构（multi-stable structures），零刚度结构（zero-stiffness structures），薄壁吸能结构（thin-walled energy absorbing structures）等。

面向的应用有：

汽车飞机等的保护结构（吸收冲击能），力学超材料（能产生特殊的力学或变形性质），航天可展结构（比如可折叠的大型太阳能电池板，大型太空望远镜等），多功能设备的变形平台（不同功能需要不同的形态，比如可改变视野的相控阵天线），医疗器械（血管支架，微纳机器人等）等。
